By admin August 5, An interesting little documentary which explores the mythology surrounding one of the most famous porn films of all time. Even as a very small child, the title Debbie Does Dallas was common knowledge and in fact I would go so far as to say that it is not simply a film title anymore. Now it has taken on a larger form and could be considered a famous phrase that maybe one day we will see on The Wheel of Fortune board. What also made Debbie Does Dallas such an eminent hardcore film is the fact that it was one of the first films to ever be distributed on VHS which made it an essential item for bachelor parties and pretty much every guy get together. This documentary explores much more than just the obvious facts regarding the film.

Ddocumentary about the history of the ubiquitous Debbie Does Dallas, focusing on what exactly it was about the film that made it such a cultural phenomenon. One of the most interesting things about the doc was that all of the men who were in the original film agreed to be in the documentary, while all but one of the women refused, and the one who did agree only did so on the condition that her interview not last longer than fifteen minutes. Was also entertained by the stories of the mob connections which helped the film to flourish. One thing that struck me was how they kept hitting on the fact that almost all of the cast were people who…. Review by Jackson. Easily the best of the series because it finally strays away from treating porn like some scuzzy taboo; recognizing that there are people in these films and that the business is incredibly lucrative. It feels like a thrilling crime documentary at times and the story is quite compelling.

Enough porn documentaries now exist to devise a tripartite taxonomy for the subgenre. Class 1 might be called the Good Times movies, films that celebrate pornography as an expression of sexual liberation and construct porn stars and filmmakers as a cute, cuddly bunch of loveable rebels. Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy, and Inside Deep Throat exemplify this category, acknowledging the dark and grimy aspects of the industry but marginalizing their significance.
